Two Traditions of Craftsmanship

Made by hand, from Mexico to Hutto.

Created in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, The Taza Collection brings together two forms of craftsmanship we love.

It begins with colorful Michoacan tazas handmade in Mexico. Each one is then handpoured by us here at Hutto Soap & Candle Company in Hutto, Texas with 100% American soybean wax and one of our signature fragrances.

Every taza color is intentionally paired with a specific fragrance, creating a collection where the vessel and scent belong together.

Light it now. Sip from it later.
Your candle may eventually burn away, but the handmade taza was made for another chapter.
The Details

More than a candle.

The Taza

Handmade in Mexico

Each colorful Michoacan taza is handmade rather than mass-produced, giving every vessel its own character.

The Candle

Hand-Poured in Hutto

We pour each candle by hand in Hutto, Texas using 100% American soybean wax and our carefully selected home fragrances.

The Pairing

Color Meets Fragrance

Each taza color is paired with one specific fragrance from our collection. Choose the pairing that feels most like you.

After The Final Burn

Your candle becomes your taza.

We wanted the vessel to be something you would keep, not throw away. These Michoacan tazas are food-safe and ready for a new life once your candle is finished.

Remove the remaining wax and wick, wash your taza thoroughly, and use it for coffee, cafecito, tea, hot chocolate, or whatever deserves a beautiful handmade cup.

No two are exactly alike.

Because the tazas are handmade, slight differences in glaze, color, texture, shape, and finish are completely normal. These variations are not imperfections. They are part of the character of handmade pottery and make each piece uniquely its own.

What is a Michoacan taza?
A taza is a cup or mug. The vessels used for The Taza Collection are colorful handmade tazas from Michoacan, Mexico. Their handmade nature means each one can have slight variations in its shape, glaze, color, and finish.
What kind of wax do you use?
Every candle in The Taza Collection is hand-poured using only 100% American soybean wax.
Can I drink from the taza after the candle is finished?
Yes. The tazas used for this collection are food-safe. After your candle has finished, remove the remaining wax and wick hardware and thoroughly wash the vessel before using it for beverages or food.
Why does my taza look slightly different from the photos?
Each taza is handmade. Slight differences in color, glaze, texture, shape, and other details are expected and are part of the beauty of handmade pottery.
Can I choose any fragrance with any taza color?
Each taza color has been intentionally paired with one specific fragrance. Select your preferred Taza + Fragrance pairing from the available options above.
How should I care for my candle?
Trim the wick to approximately 1/4 inch before each burn. For the first burn, allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface when possible. Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Keep it on a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, children, pets, and flammable materials, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
Where is The Taza Collection made?
The Michoacan tazas are handmade in Mexico. We then hand-pour each candle in small batches at Hutto Soap & Candle Company in Hutto, Texas.
